Cleaning Growth and Marks Off Southern Michigan Driveways
Driveway cleaning lifts the growth and the marks that settle into your concrete over the seasons. Across Southern Michigan and Fort Wayne, shaded, wooded lots hold the moisture that feeds that growth, so it keeps coming back on its own. At Westfall Power Washing LLC, we match the method to your concrete's age and finish. Older concrete gets a surface cleaner; newer slabs get a gentle soft wash. Call (517) 227-4597 and we'll get that driveway looking right again.
Types of Driveways We Clean
We check what your driveway is made of, along with its age and condition, before we decide how to clean it. Here is how each kind is handled.
Poured Concrete
The first thing we do is look at the age, finish and condition, and any marks that are already there. Sound older concrete is cleaned one way, and concrete under five years old, along with some well-finished older slabs, is cleaned another. The method is chosen so the surface is never etched.
Stamped Concrete
"Stamped concrete gets the same age-and-finish check, with a gentler method wherever the surface calls for it. If the color has faded, cleaning alone won't bring it back. That's a full restoration through our concrete sealing work, where we strip the old sealer, restore the integral color and reseal. Stamped drives are common on the area's lake homes, and we come out to look in person before we quote this work.
Asphalt
Asphalt driveways are washed and prepped for sealing. Where a section has been patched or newly added, we lay down a top coat first so the whole drive matches, then seal.
Why Homeowners Pick Us to Clean Their Concrete Driveways
Homeowners here call us for their driveways because we know concrete and we tell them the truth about theirs. Here is what that means on your job.
We Know Concrete
We don't just wash. We restore. Our team knows concrete inside and out, from how it was poured to how it should be cleaned and sealed, and we bring faded stamped concrete, pavers, and weathered wood back to life without damaging them. On a driveway, that means we read the slab before we ever pick a method.
You Don't Have to Be There
You don't need to be home. We do a full walkthrough and photograph your property before we start, keep you updated by text and email, and send matched before-and-after photos with your invoice. That suits busy households and the lake and second-home owners around here who are rarely on site.
An Honest Call on Your Concrete
Newer concrete gets a gentle soft wash, not a surface cleaner, so we never etch the finish. If a section is breaking apart, we'll tell you it needs replacing before you spend money cleaning it. We show you what's actually going on and let you decide from there.
Our Own Water and Hot Water on the Truck
Our trucks carry hot-water units, our own water supply and filtration, and we can bring in more water and supplies for large properties. Big jobs don't slow us down. On a driveway, the hot water cuts through the tough spots, and the filtration keeps rusty or hard well water off your concrete.

From the photos you send us to the invoice at the end, here is how a driveway cleaning goes.
A Free Estimate From Your Photos
Reach out by call, text, or online request, and our office team answers, with a live answering service as backup. We look up your property online or ask you for a few photos. For stamped concrete or restoration work, we come out and look in person. Your written estimate comes by email within two business days, often the same day, with our insurance and workers' comp details included.
Approve, Schedule, Get Reminders
Accept your estimate online and you'll get email and text confirmation. As the date gets close, we send reminders with an arrival window.
Walkthrough and Plant Protection
We walk the driveway and photograph it and the area around it before any work starts, then check the concrete's age, finish, condition, and marks. We pre-wet and protect your landscaping on every job. If you're planning new annuals, hold off until after we've been out. Fresh plantings are the most delicate.
Surface Cleaning Sound, Older Concrete
On older concrete that is still in good shape, we run a surface cleaner with our hot-water units, then rinse. If there is heavy growth, we follow up with a treatment so it stays clear.
Soft Washing Newer Concrete
Concrete under five years old, and some well-finished older concrete, gets a gentle soft wash with a treatment and a light wand rinse instead. No surface cleaner touches these slabs, so the finish stays exactly as it was poured.
Final Look and Your Invoice
Your invoice goes out the day of service. If anything isn't right, we want to hear about it, and we'll come back out.
Sealing Your Driveway After It's Cleaned
Once your driveway is clean, we strongly recommend sealing it. Sealing helps the concrete stand up to winter road salt and plowing, and it adds years to the surface. We water-test the driveway first and quote the sealing on its own. Then we let the surface dry fully and come back the next day, or within a day or two, timing it around rain. Sealer needs warm, dry weather to soak in and cure, so we only seal when temperatures stay above about 65 degrees. Plan to stay off it for six hours and keep cars and heavy furniture off for 24 to 48 hours. We book this work from late spring through summer, and asphalt drives can be sealed too.
What Driveway Cleaning Costs, and What Moves the Price
Every driveway is priced based on our look at it. Size, finish, condition, access, and scope all move the number, and the final figure lands in your written estimate.
| Pricing | Details |
|---|---|
| $450 minimum | $450 minimum: this is the service-call floor for a driveway cleaning, not the price of every driveway. Larger or more involved drives are priced up from there by square footage, finish, condition, and access. Stamped restoration and sealing are quoted on their own. |
When a job is small, we look for other useful work to add so the visit is worth it. If you pair your driveway cleaning with sealing or another service, we build the savings into your quote, so ask about it when you get your estimate. Quality costs a little more, and that's on purpose. We're priced to do the job right the first time, fair and upfront.
Our 48-Hour Promise and Plant Guarantee for Driveway Cleaning
We stand behind the work two ways on every driveway.
Make-It-Right Within 48 Hours
If something isn't right, let us know within 48 hours of your service, and we'll come back out to make it right, usually the same day or the next morning.
Plant Replacement
We document your plants before we start, and if our work damages one, we'll replace it.
Driveway Cleaning Customer Reviews
Driveway Cleaning FAQs
Can you clean my driveway in the winter?
Driveway cleaning runs spring through fall. Once the weather turns and water starts to freeze, exterior cleaning pauses for roughly three to four months, so winter drives are scheduled for the next open season. Sealing has its own warmer-weather window in late spring through summer, which we'll walk you through when you book.
Can you get rust stains off my driveway?
Yes, rust removal can be added to your driveway cleaning or booked on its own. Most of the rust we see comes from well water and sprinkler systems, and we match the cleaner's strength to the surface so young concrete never gets etched. Most rust lifts right off, but deep stains can leave a faint shadow. If the rust is coming from metal inside your concrete, it can return because the source is still there. We'll tell you up front. We'll also show you how to stop it, usually by having your irrigation heads adjusted or swapped, and the rust work is priced in your estimate.
